Anupama 20th January 2024 Written Update: In today’s episode, Anupama rides in a car with Yashdeep. Shruti and Anuj are in another car. Shruti wants to joke about an ant and an elephant because it’s too quiet. Yashdeep tells Anupama he feels uneasy in silence. He mentions that as an army person, he’s used to loud noises, not silence. Anupama is surprised to learn he’s in the army and greets him with “Jai Hind,” saying it’s her first time meeting a soldier.
Kavya is talking to Vanraj, upset about Pakhi’s actions. She believes Vanraj’s support has spoiled Pakhi. She worries about what will happen if Adhik gets custody of Ishani. Kavya urges Vanraj to talk to Pakhi and be a good father-in-law. She wants him to earn respect, not take it unfairly. Vanraj watches Titu and Dimpy playing with the children.
Yashdeep shares that after his army service, he retired and returned to his village. Then, Beeji called him to come here. He asks Anupama how she ended up here. She says fate brought her and explains her story, mentioning how she’s grateful for the help she’s received. Shruti jokes they should have a destination wedding chosen by Aadhya. She feels they should move to India, recalling how they went out on Makar Sankranti feeling lonely.
Anupama tells Rahul about Yashdeep, noting how different they are. Yashdeep joins them, encouraging a “Jai Hind” greeting. He says he’ll be their boss, focusing on teamwork and discipline. Anupama offers him something to eat. He likes bread, butter, and jelly. Angel tells Kinjal she doesn’t want to go to ballet class because the teacher is strict. She prefers going where the Indian lady is dancing and asks Kinjal not to tell Toshu. Toshu arrives as Kinjal is preparing breakfast.
Anupama gives Yashdeep a sandwich. He wonders where the bread and butter are. Rahul explains they use peanut butter and jam. Anupama apologizes and offers to make another sandwich, but Yashdeep enjoys it. Anuj tells Shruti he can’t pick her up. Aadhya surprises them, joking that he’s either going somewhere or unwell. In the kitchen, Dimpy hears someone and grabs a rolling pin for defence. Titu surprises her, saying he was just thirsty. They have a moment but are interrupted by Vanraj. Dimpy and Titu worry about being caught.
Anuj calls Devika. She teases him for calling after so long. Anuj says he’s been isolated and needs to know if Anu is in America. Devika playfully scolds him, saying she would’ve reprimanded him if they were together. She confirms Anu is in America but doesn’t know her exact location. Anupama regrets losing Devika’s number when she lost her diary and phone.

Anuj is shocked. Devika mentions the restaurant where Anu worked, but she can’t reach them. Anuj pleads for any information, expressing how much he misses Anu. He ends the call distraught. Vanraj questions Dimpy about being in the kitchen and not responding. She claims she couldn’t hear him. Vanraj notices an open window, which Dimpy denies opening. Vanraj closes it, unaware that Titu is hiding outside.
Anuj asks Devika for more information about Anu. Knowing Anuj is engaged to someone else, Devika questions his interest in Anupama. Anuj begs her to tell Anupama he misses her. Devika promises to inform him if she learns anything.
