Anupama 23rd September 2023 Written Update: In today’s episode, Anuj says he’s done talking about Malti. Anuj stops Anupama from saying something. Malti asks to be able to say something. Anupama tells Anuj to wait to punish Malti until she can explain herself. Anupama helps Malti in the way a mother would. She tells Anuj to let Malti talk, telling him that talking is essential to any relationship. Because of Anupama, Anuj finally agrees to listen to Malti. He tells Pakhi to bring Anu inside and then tells Malti to talk.

Malti puts her hands together and says she wasn’t made to do anything. Malti just left her son, Leela says. Vanraj asks Malti to tell the whole story. Malti says that even though she had dreams, she was forced to get married. She was upset with her husband because he didn’t back her dreams. Malti says she had to choose between being a mother and pursuing her dream. She chose to have children. Later, she got another chance, so she put Anuj in an orphanage and moved to the United States to live her dream.
Anuj agrees with Malti’s dream, but he says Malti had to pay for it. He wants to know where it says a woman can’t go after her dreams after having a child. He feels bad that Malti didn’t come to see him. He uses Maya as an example. After six years, Maya went to see Anu. Anuj is right, and so is Anupama. Anuj says that Malti hasn’t come to see him once in the past 40 years.
Malti says she wanted to see Anuj but was too afraid to face him. Anuj says that he can’t think of Malti as his mother. Anuj tells Malti not to call him “son,” but Malti does. Anuj tells Anupama that Malti can stay in the house but that he won’t live with her. Everyone is taken aback.
Malti is anxious. Anuj is angry and doesn’t understand why Malti returned. Barkha thinks Malti should not have had a child and left him. Vanraj and Leela share Barkha’s ideas. Kavya says that Anupama will have to choose between Malti and Anuj. Anu supports Anuj. She tells him that it’s okay to cry and thinks about Maya.
Precap: Dimple is upset—Leela’s crazy. During the Lord Ganesha party, Anuj tells Anupama to send Malti away. Anupama is taken aback.

Malti’s return creates a rift between Anuj and his family, making this episode very emotional. Anupama tries to be a peacemaker by telling Anuj to give Malti a chance to explain herself before making hard decisions. Malti admits that she left Anuj to follow her dreams, which starts a discussion about what women and mothers should do in society. Anuj disagrees that a woman can’t pursue her dreams after she has a child, but he’s hurt that Malti never came to see him. Ultimately, he decides he can’t live with her, which shocks everyone.
In this episode, there is a lot of talk about how hard it is to balance personal goals and family responsibilities. It also shows how Anupama tries to keep the relationship between Anuj and Malti from worsening.
